Iran has conveyed its conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz to the United States through intermediaries, reports infohub.kz.
According to the report, citing Tasnim, Iran demands that the U.S. cease its military operation against the country and unfreeze its assets to allow shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. This was stated by Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
Additionally, Rezaei said that hostilities must end across the region, including in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
Rezaei also noted that other conditions, not related to the aforementioned demands, were conveyed to the United States through intermediaries.
"Until the U.S. changes its behavior and accepts Iran's conditions, the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened," he stressed.
The Iranian official called the U.S. a source of instability in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman. According to him, Washington, by imposing an "illegal war" on Iran, has endangered the entire region.
