Iran's top security official has dismissed as "fabrications" reports that Tehran planned to assassinate the son of former US President Donald Trump, according to infohub.kz.
The US Secret Service earlier said that an Iranian state TV channel aired a video containing threats against the younger son of the American leader.
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said the allegations were false. "This is a colossal lie, thanks to which Netanyahu has managed to subjugate Trump. If we had made such a decision, nothing would have prevented us from carrying it out. This is a lie invented by Netanyahu, with which he has scared Trump," Rezaei said on Lebanese television.
It was previously reported that the US Secret Service is investigating threats made by Iranian state television against Trump's son, Barron. The three-minute video called for violence and included stylized images of places where the president's son is known to spend time.
