Tehran has officially denied US President Donald Trump's assertion that Iran agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz to shipping, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Fars news agency, the Iranian side stated that no agreement had been reached on opening the waterway. The strait will remain closed until the United States ceases its hostile actions.
Iran's foreign ministry emphasized that the issue of unblocking the Strait of Hormuz for free passage of vessels is being used merely as a pretext for armed aggression by the United States. The statement from Iran's Foreign Ministry notes that references to Washington's role in destabilizing the situation in the strait and escalating tensions serve as a cover for military actions and pressure on Iran.
