In Iran, footage of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has been released for the first time in five months. The video was published by the state-run Mehr agency, reports infohub.kz.

On August 8, the outlet posted a 12-second video on Telegram showing Khamenei sitting surrounded by several people. The date of the recording is not specified.

It is recalled that after the death of Ali Khamenei, his son, 56-year-old Mojtaba Khamenei, was elected as Iran's new Supreme Leader. Earlier, there were reports online about the possible injury of the new leader, but these were denied by the son of the country's president. German outlet BILD reported that the ayatollah might be wounded and in hiding. Later, Iran's Foreign Ministry confirmed the injury.

It was also reported that during Ali Khamenei's funeral, his son and successor vowed to avenge the deaths of his father and other victims of US and Israeli attacks.
