Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has threatened to shut down all export corridors in the Middle East that benefit the United States and its allies, reports infohub.kz.

According to Tehran, regional energy shipments should be available either to everyone or to no one. No official statements about specific route closures have been made, but Reuters analysts believe the Guard could enlist its allies — the Houthi group in Yemen — to block the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. This strait connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and carries Saudi oil exports as well as a significant portion of global maritime traffic.

Currently, the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked by Iran, and the United States has reimposed a blockade on Iranian ports.
