Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said at the SCO summit in Bishkek that Tehran is ready to return to compliance with the ceasefire memorandum if Washington also fulfills its obligations, reports infohub.kz.
"I state openly that as soon as the United States returns to fulfilling its obligations under the aforementioned memorandum, Iran will immediately reciprocate," the Iranian leader stressed.
Earlier, the head of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), Brad Cooper, said that American troops had cleared the Strait of Hormuz of mines laid by the Iranian side. The day before, the U.S. struck Iranian facilities in the area to prevent further mining. In response, Tehran attacked American air bases in Jordan.
In addition, Iranian military reported that a supertanker, which attempted to pass through an unauthorized route, caught fire after hitting mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
