Talks between Iran and the United States can resume only if Washington meets seven demands set by Tehran, according to Iran's state television and the RIA Novosti news agency, as reported by infohub.kz.

The statement was made by Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC). According to him, the Iranian side has conveyed its seven conditions to the United States and made it clear that no negotiations will take place until Washington fulfills Tehran's demands.

"We conveyed our seven conditions to the US, stating that there will be no negotiations until Washington fulfills Tehran's demands. These conditions differed from the content of the Islamabad memorandum," Iran's state television quoted him as saying.

Rezaei also stressed that Iran must "punish" the United States. Otherwise, in his view, any other country would conclude that such military attacks on Iran are acceptable.

It was previously reported that US Vice President Vance secretly proposed that Iran return to peace negotiations.
