Tehran will consider holding talks with Washington only if the United States returns to compliance with the Islamabad Memorandum, said Fada-Hossein Maleki, a member of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, according to infohub.kz.

"As I have said before, Iran sets the implementation of the memorandum as a condition for the start of any negotiations (with the US — ed.). As for the talks, if the Americans return to implementing the memorandum, we will examine this issue," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The lawmaker also warned that Iran's response to any actions by the United States and Israel "will be harsh."

In addition, Iran has sent an ultimatum to Middle Eastern countries demanding that they abandon support for the United States if hostilities between Tehran and Washington resume.

Recall that back in June of this year, the United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding electronically.
