Iran is targeting the destruction of the United States' offensive military infrastructure in the region, said IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebi, according to the website infohub.kz.
According to him, a second phase will follow.
"Iran's operations are currently focused on destroying US offensive military infrastructure in the region. The next phase will begin afterward," Mohebi said.
Meanwhile, the speaker of the Iranian parliament stated that Iran's military has full freedom of action in responding to attacks on the country.
The exchange of strikes between the US and Iran began a week ago, on the eve of the NATO summit in Ankara.
Later, the US President said that the ceasefire regime had ended, but Washington was willing to negotiate. Recently, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that the peace treaty with the US had expired.
Yesterday, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported conducting a new series of attacks to weaken Iranian military forces.
