Kazakhstan national team midfielder Islam Chesnokov started for Krylia Sovetov in their away match against Moscow Lokomotiv in the ninth round of the Russian Premier League. The game at RZD Arena ended 1-1, according to infohub.kz.
Chesnokov began the match on the right wing of the Samara club's attack. In the 44th minute, the Kazakh received a yellow card, and at halftime Krylia Sovetov head coach Sergei Bulatov replaced him with Nikita Saltykov.
The first half was goalless. After the break, Lokomotiv took the lead: Nikolai Komlichenko scored in the 53rd minute. Krylia Sovetov responded in the 67th minute – substitute Amar Rakhmanovich equalized after an assist from Saltykov.
Neither team scored again – 1-1. After nine rounds, Krylia Sovetov have 11 points and sit in ninth place. Lokomotiv, with seven points, are 13th. Krasnodar lead with 20 points.
Chesnokov joined the Samara club on August 18 on loan from Kostanay's Tobol. The agreement runs until the end of the 2026/27 season and includes an option to buy the player.
Before the match against Lokomotiv, the 26-year-old Kazakh had appeared in RPL games against Akron, Akhmat, and Krasnodar. He was on the bench for the match against Rodina.
