The striker was shown a red card for a disputed celebration of his goal in the League B match against Austria. Abu-Farkhi scored in the 55th minute to level the score at 1-1.
After the goal, the forward ran to the corner flag, pulled it out, dropped to his right knee, laid the pole across the back of his left hand and mimed a gesture resembling a gunshot.
According to RBC, citing a translation of an ESPN report, it remains unclear exactly what the player was imitating — a billiard cue strike or a rifle shot.
Referee Georgi Kabakov immediately showed the Colorado Rapids forward a second yellow card — just four minutes after the first — resulting in his dismissal.
