Kazakh boxer Janibek Alimkhanuly has called out Mexican star Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez after moving up to super middleweight, according to infohub.kz.

In an Instagram story, Alimkhanuly posted a message to Canelo: "Canelo, I've moved up to your weight class! We have unfinished business."

Earlier, the Kazakh announced his move to the new weight division on his page. He said he had won belts at middleweight and intended to go further: "We will continue this journey in the super middleweight division! There are many famous boxers in this category. Many of those who used to fight in my weight class are now in super middleweight and becoming champions. Well, it's time to disturb them a little."

Previously, WBO president Gustavo Olivier told The Ring that Alimkhanuly had vacated his WBO middleweight title and was moving up to super middleweight.
