American actor and musician Jared Leto has denied allegations of sexual assault made against him in a BBC documentary, according to infohub.kz.
In a statement provided to PEOPLE on July 29, Leto categorically rejected the claims. "I have never in my life sexually assaulted anyone. These allegations are absolutely and categorically false," he said.
The BBC previously published an investigation in which four women accused the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman of sexual offenses involving minors. One accuser claims she was assaulted in a motel at age 17. Another said the actor threatened her with sexual assault in a hotel room when she was 19. A third woman alleged she had a sexual relationship with Leto at age 17 in California, and a fourth said she received lewd phone calls starting when she was 16. The journalists noted that four additional women described sexualized phone conversations with the actor at a young age.
