American actor Jason Sudeikis, who gained fame for his role as Ted Lasso, has received an unexpected offer to try his hand at real football. The women's club 'Žalgiris' from Vilnius has invited him to lead the team for a week, conduct a training session, and an official match, reports infohub.kz.

'Žalgiris' recorded a special video message for Sudeikis and sent the offer to his representatives. The actor is expected in Vilnius in the autumn.

If Sudeikis agrees, he will be given the opportunity to independently manage the team for a week. He will be able to choose tactics, determine the lineup, and make decisions during an official match of the Lithuanian championship.

The offer is not coincidental. In the fourth season of 'Ted Lasso', Sudeikis's character begins working with the women's team of 'Richmond'. The Vilnius club decided to literally transfer this storyline from the series to a real football pitch.

There is another detail to the idea. Sudeikis has Lithuanian roots on his father's side, so 'Žalgiris' hopes the offer might interest him. It is not yet known whether the actor will agree to come to Vilnius and try his hand at being a real coach.

Interestingly, the name 'Žalgiris' is well known to fans across the former USSR. In Soviet times, the Vilnius club was a flagship of Lithuanian football, and in 1987 it finished third in the USSR championship.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that the official trailer for the fourth season of the comedy series 'Ted Lasso' was released.
