Jetta, the Chinese brand jointly owned by Volkswagen and FAW, has revealed interior details of its first production electric vehicle, the M6 EV sedan. One of the key features is the ability to transform the cabin into a full-fledged sleeping area for two, according to infohub.kz.
The interior of the Jetta M6 is designed in a modern minimalist style. The dashboard features a large "floating" infotainment display and a compact digital instrument cluster. The gear selector is positioned behind a two-spoke D-shaped steering wheel.
The center console houses a wireless smartphone charger, two cup holders, and a hidden storage compartment. The seats are upholstered in perforated faux leather, and the cabin is complemented by a large panoramic roof.
The main highlight of the Jetta M6 is the ability to turn the cabin into a sleeping space. The front seats fold completely flat together with the rear row, creating a level surface for two people to rest. This feature is more commonly found in expensive crossovers designed for travel and camping. For a budget urban sedan, such functionality remains a rarity.
The Jetta brand was established in 2019 as a joint venture between FAW and Volkswagen to produce affordable gasoline cars for the Chinese market. Now the brand is transitioning to electric power. For Volkswagen, the new sedan holds strategic importance as the group seeks to strengthen its position in China, where local manufacturers continue to aggressively displace traditional auto brands.
In the first half of 2026, sales of Jetta vehicles with internal combustion engines fell by 13.1% to 47,800 units. Therefore, the bet on electric vehicles seems logical. Earlier reports indicated that the new Jetta resembles the Tesla Model 3. It was also announced that the Jetta VA7 sedan and VS7 and VS8 crossovers will officially go on sale in Kazakhstan.
