Since the start of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine in February 2022, the European Union has provided Kyiv with more than €220 billion in assistance. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said this during a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, according to infohub.kz.
The text of the EU foreign policy chief's speech was published on the official website of the European Union's diplomatic service. According to Kallas, military support for Ukraine from the EU and its member states has exceeded €78 billion.
In addition, the loan to support Ukraine provides for €90 billion over two years, of which €60 billion is earmarked for military assistance. €8.35 billion has already been disbursed, including funds intended for the purchase of Patriot missiles.
"The most obvious and immediate response from Europeans is to use the financing available under the European Peace Facility. We could allocate another billion euros for military support. I am working with member states on the distribution of these funds," Kallas said.
