A KamAZ truck fell into a pit in the mountains of Almaty, effectively blocking the road and cutting off Butakovka from the city, according to eyewitnesses, reports infohub.kz.
Video of the incident was posted on the Threads account kris__p__kz with the comment: "Butakovka was cut off from the city for more than an hour."
"The start of the road, on the side of the Bukhtarma Gorge. Here one side is dug up, and a KamAZ truck fell into a pit. The entire road was blocked because there is no room to pass. And how long this will drag on here is unknown," the video's author said.
Meanwhile, the company Almaty Su said that work to replace emergency water supply networks at the specified address is being completed.
"The completion of this work will provide the Muztau microdistrict with centralized water supply; the total length of the networks to be replaced is 2.5 km. Restoration of the road surface is planned to be completed by October 15. Work has been carried out to re-fill the sinkhole areas with inert materials," the company concluded.
