The concert of American rapper Kanye West in Almaty resulted in financial losses for the organizing company, and future invitations of artists of such scale to Kazakhstan have been called into question, reports infohub.kz.

Danna Karagussova, founder of the company that organized Kanye West's concert in Kazakhstan, spoke at the BeWoman forum and admitted that bringing stars of such caliber is becoming unprofitable.

"Bringing big artists is becoming unprofitable for us private organizers — ticket prices are becoming astronomically high. And here, first of all, we need government support so that these world stars come here and tickets are affordable for our population. The Kanye West concert was a big loss for us as a holding company. And I say this honestly. We did the work, everyone enjoyed it, but financially it was unprofitable for the holding. And bringing such an artist further without government financial support will simply become unprofitable," said Danna Karagussova.

She also noted that countries that see benefit in inviting such performers will do so earlier than Kazakhstan.

Recall that Kanye West's concert was supposed to take place on August 14 at 21:00 at the Central Stadium in Almaty. However, just before the start, viewers were informed that the show was postponed to August 15. As the artist himself said, the reason was weather conditions. As a result, the concert took place on Saturday, August 15. At West's performance, viewers were able to see a laser show and fireworks.
