In Almaty, the Kanye West concert on August 14 will affect metro operations. Due to the event at the Central Stadium, the metro will operate in an enhanced mode, reports infohub.kz.
According to information published on the Almaty Metro's Instagram account, train intervals will be adjusted on August 14. From 6:20 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., 11 trains will run at intervals of 5 minutes 38 seconds. During the daytime from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and in the evening from 8:00 p.m. to midnight, the interval will increase to 10 minutes 20 seconds, with 6 trains in service. At night, from midnight to 3:00 a.m., 4 trains will operate at intervals of 15 minutes 30 seconds.
All metro stations will remain open until 3:00 a.m., except for Baikonur station, which will close for entry and exit from 9:00 p.m. Trains will pass through this station without stopping.
Passengers have also been warned that security checks at metro entrances will be intensified.
Earlier, it was reported that scammers are selling fake tickets for the concert online. Police have issued recommendations for fans on how to avoid fraud when purchasing tickets. Additionally, the Almaty city administration announced street closures on August 14 and changes to the routes of 32 bus lines.
