Karabatan Utility Solutions, the infrastructure operator of the petrochemical technopark in the Atyrau region, reported a net profit of 7.44 billion tenge for 2025, down 40.8% from 12.56 billion tenge a year earlier, according to infohub.kz.
Despite the decline in profit, revenue continued to grow, reaching 33.31 billion tenge in 2025, up 26.6% from 26.32 billion tenge in 2024.
However, higher costs offset the revenue growth. Cost of sales rose from 22.16 billion to 29.39 billion tenge, and administrative expenses increased from 1 billion to 1.24 billion tenge. As a result, operating profit fell from 3.15 billion to 2.68 billion tenge.
Financial income, which nearly doubled from 1.99 billion to 3.65 billion tenge, significantly impacted the bottom line. Thanks to this, profit before tax reached 6.21 billion tenge, although it was 12.77 billion tenge in 2024.
According to the financial statements, Karabatan Utility Solutions was established in 2014. The company is owned by structures of the Samruk-Kazyna fund: 99.9999995% of shares are controlled by Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu, and the remaining 0.0000005% belongs to Polymer Production LLP. The ultimate controlling party is the Government of Kazakhstan.
The company was created to implement infrastructure projects for the special economic zone "National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark" in the Atyrau region. It operates a 310 MW gas turbine power plant, as well as water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities.
The company's main activities remain electricity generation and water treatment and wastewater services. As of the end of 2025, it continued to supply water to its own power plant and other petrochemical enterprises.
In April 2026, Kursiv reported that Renat Nukezhanov was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Karabatan Utility Solutions. Previously, he worked in the Almaty prosecutor's office, the economic investigations department for the Almaty region, and held senior positions in Samruk-Kazyna structures.
