A resident of Karaganda has been found guilty of assaulting two women after she went to their apartment to confront them over an alleged insult to her grandfather, reports Orda.kz.
According to court documents, on the evening of January 27, 2026, the woman went to the victim's apartment to resolve the matter. The conversation quickly escalated into a conflict: the defendant struck the apartment owner several times with her hands on the head and body. When another woman tried to intervene, the assailant grabbed her left hand and caused bodily harm.
The first victim sustained abrasions to her face and both hands; the second victim suffered abrasions to her left hand. The defendant's guilt was confirmed by forensic medical examinations, testimony from the victims and witnesses, and other materials of the criminal case.
The prosecutor and both victims requested that the woman be fined. The defense, however, argued for acquittal, claiming there was no corpus delicti.
The court considered as a mitigating factor that the defendant has a young child. No aggravating factors were found. She was found guilty of assaulting two people and fined 100 MCI (monthly calculation index) — 432,500 tenge. Additionally, the court ordered her to pay each victim 500,000 tenge in compensation for moral damages and reimburse 1 million tenge for legal representation costs. The victims may also recover medical expenses; the amount of these payments will be determined separately in civil proceedings.
