In Karaganda, prosecutors have requested nearly seven years in prison for a female entrepreneur accused of defrauding more than 500 Kazakh citizens: hundreds of buyers never received their paid orders, reports infohub.kz.

According to KTK TV channel, over 500 people trusted a resident of Akmola Region who promised to deliver goods from China at favorable prices. People ordered clothing, household items, and cars, but most buyers never received their purchases. In total, trusting Kazakhstanis gave her a billion tenge.

"People agreed because they were told beautiful things, they were lied to well. All kinds of ads, for example, for buying cars. They bought ads from other people, didn't supply the cars themselves. And thereby gained people's trust, and they transferred all the sums. 'The last spot is left in the car carrier, please hurry to buy,' says victim Anastasia Semenova.

The resident of Akmola Region collected orders and prepayments from clients across the country via messengers. She sold household items, clothing, and even cars, advertised her services with bloggers, and showed off a luxurious life herself.

However, only the first clients received their orders. The rest have been waiting for their goods for over a year now.

As a result, the businesswoman and her manager are under house arrest: the former has seven children, and her subordinate has a young child.

Hundreds of victims asked to imprison the friends for 10 years and oblige them to return all the money. The prosecutor requested 6 years and 8 months with a one-year deferral.

Today the accused proposed to be acquitted: she said it was just a cost of doing business, and if free, she would return everything.

"As a supplier, I failed to fulfill my obligations. There were many people, so delivery times increased. I overestimated my abilities and couldn't deliver the goods. I ask for a chance to make refunds to people," she admitted.
