Police in Kazakhstan's Karaganda Region stopped a truck on the Astana–Karaganda highway whose driver was concealing Kazakh license plates under Georgian ones, infohub.kz reports.
According to the information media portal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on October 7 officers of the patrol police battalion of the Karaganda Region Police Department received information from the QAJ system about a truck traveling from Astana toward Karaganda. According to the data, the vehicle might be using false state registration plates.
The information was immediately relayed to patrol crews. At the 111th kilometer of the highway near the village of Osakarovka, police stopped a DAF truck driven by a 35-year-old man. During inspection of the vehicle, the suspicions were confirmed.
"Georgian license plates were mounted over the Kazakh state registration plates. In this way, the driver tried to conceal the vehicle's real registration data," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The vehicle was placed on a communal specialized impound lot. Administrative protocols were drawn up against the driver under Parts 3 and 4 of Article 590 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses. Following review of the materials, the Osakarovka District Court stripped the driver of the right to operate vehicles for one year and imposed administrative arrest.
