The National Bank of Kazakhstan has clarified whether citizens will receive cashback when making payments through the unified QR code system, reports infohub.kz.
Binyur Zhalenov, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, stated that the unified QR will allow customers to earn cashback, but each bank will set its own loyalty program terms.
“Each bank has its own strategy: some offer increased cashback, others standard for all transactions, and some differentiate by transaction type. Banks will choose their own strategy, so cashback and loyalty programs will vary,” Zhalenov explained.
He also noted that several banks are already preparing special offers for users of the unified QR. According to him, three banks will definitely implement a special loyalty program for payments via the unified QR, and relevant announcements may appear as early as today.
