Kazakh fintech company Kaspi.kz has completed the acquisition of Turkish bank Rabobank A.Ş. and rebranded it as Hepsi Bank. In the first phase, the company plans to capitalize its new bank with $300 million to develop credit and deposit products, reports infohub.kz.
According to Kaspi.kz's financial report for the first half of 2026, the deal to purchase Turkish bank Rabobank A.Ş. was completed in July, after which the company obtained a banking license in Turkey. Subsequently, the rebranding was carried out, and the bank received a new name — Hepsi Bank.
At the initial stage, the company launched the Hepsicredit product, integrated with the previously acquired Turkish marketplace Hepsiburada. This service, similar to Kaspi.kz's solutions in Kazakhstan, allows customers to take out installment plans directly during the purchase of goods on the marketplace. Already in June, it accounted for 0.4% of Hepsiburada's merchandise turnover.
The obtained banking license opens up opportunities for Kaspi.kz to expand credit and deposit products in Turkey, which will become a key priority for the company in 2027. To implement these plans, the fintech company will capitalize Hepsi Bank with $300 million.
The company emphasized that it sees significant prospects for developing high-quality, transparent, and convenient digital fintech products for consumers and merchants in Turkey.
According to Kaspi.kz's report, revenue from the company's entire business in Turkey in the second quarter amounted to 263.5 billion tenge, up 6% compared to the same period last year. In the first half of the year, the Turkish business brought Kaspi.kz 551.8 billion tenge, showing a 39% year-on-year growth.
Earlier it was reported that the board of directors of Kaspi.kz recommended paying shareholders dividends of 1,000 tenge per share. The total amount of dividends could reach 199.5 billion tenge.
