A serviceman rescued after a training tragedy in the Mangystau Region has been taken to the regional multidisciplinary hospital and is under constant medical supervision. The regional health department reported this, according to infohub.kz.
"The patient is receiving all necessary medical care in full. The serviceman's condition is currently assessed as stable but critical," the department's statement said.
Doctors continue treatment and are monitoring the patient's condition. The situation remains under the control of the regional health department.
Recall that on September 24, Navy servicemen were carrying out a training and combat mission on the Caspian Sea coast. According to the Ministry of Defense, the weather sharply deteriorated and the wind intensified. Nineteen people were swept out to sea. Nine servicemen died, three were rescued. The search for the others continues.
A criminal case has been opened into the deaths of the military personnel, and the Prosecutor General's Office has taken special control of the investigation.
President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev expressed condolences to the families of the servicemen and declared September 25 a day of national mourning.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a government commission led by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev had already arrived in the region to coordinate the work of agencies and assist the families of the deceased.
