Kaz Altyn Minerals plans to assess gold reserves at the Kanayka site in the East Kazakhstan and Abai regions. According to Qazba.kz, the company, owned by a Swiss legal entity and a Kazakh citizen, aims to complete exploration across an area of 248 square kilometers by 2028, infohub.kz reports.
Kaz Altyn Minerals intends to conduct prospecting and evaluation of primary gold ore bodies and placer deposits within the Vostochny, Kanaysky, and Yugo-Vostochny local areas. The ultimate goal is to calculate gold reserves at the Kanayka-1 deposit.
The license area covers 248 square kilometers. It spans two regions—East Kazakhstan and Abai—located 50 kilometers southwest of Ust-Kamenogorsk.
Work is planned for the warm seasons of 2027–2028. In 2027, the company expects to drill 2,000 linear meters and carry out 7,000 cubic meters of mining operations. In 2028, it plans 1,000 linear meters of drilling and 2,500 cubic meters of mining. This will allow the company to estimate gold reserves and prepare a feasibility study for further development of the deposit.
Additionally, 110 kilometers of route prospecting is planned. A network of ditches, trenches, pits, and boreholes will be densified in the most promising areas. The company will also conduct topographic surveys and mining operations using a drone.
Kaz Altyn Minerals is owned by Switzerland-registered ARDI Group Invest, which specializes in financial operations, and Bolat Medikhanov. They are also co-owners of another company, Qaz Gold Minerals.
Kaz Altyn Minerals holds a subsoil use contract signed back in 2015 for gold exploration at the Kanayka-1 site in the East Kazakhstan region. The company's exploration and evaluation assets, essentially exploration costs, stood at 512 million tenge at the end of 2024.
Earlier, it was reported that private company Central Asia Kaisheng Minerals & Energy International Group Ltd., owned by Chinese investors, plans to explore for solid minerals, including gold, at the Perspektivny-2 site near the village of Zholymbet in the Shortandy district of Akmola region.
