Kazakhstanis are actively discussing the deaths of sailors on the Caspian Sea on social media, and Kursiv LifeStyle found out how show business figures and public figures reacted to the tragedy, reports infohub.kz.
Bayan and Tursen Alaguzov expressed their condolences in stories dedicated to the fallen servicemen. Dinara Satzhan published a detailed post calling for financial assistance to the families of the victims.
Businessman and People's Council deputy Zhumabek Zhanykulov allocated 50 million tenge to the families of the deceased. Singers Luina and Dimash Kudaibergen also expressed their reactions to the tragedy.
At the same time, Kazakhstanis were outraged by the lack of any reaction to the sailors' deaths from blogger Madlen, who has 2 million followers on Instagram.
"Madlen lost a bag and many bloggers supported her morally. They wrote, 'how sad.' But today my people lost 12 of their best guys, and two more are being searched for. And here there is silence. Not a single word. Not even a pitiful 'condolences.'" a user wrote in bewilderment.
In the comments under the post, users tagged some bloggers and businessmen. For some, a thread about the sailors appeared only after this, while others changed nothing.
Kursiv LifeStyle reviewed the accounts of celebrities and did not see, for example, condolences from Kairat Nurtas, Maria Miller, Beibit Alibekov, or Dana Karagussova.
Thus, Kazakh celebrities, as always in society, reacted differently, so drawing unequivocal conclusions, for example, about all bloggers, would be premature.
We note that September 25 has been declared a day of national mourning in Kazakhstan. The day before, during exercises, a storm carried 17 servicemen out to the open sea. 14 of them died, three were rescued. Two sailors were found in the morning; 12 deaths were known the day before.
