Expanding the presence of new Kazakh films on Kinopoisk was the focus of talks between Arman Kyrykbaev, Minister of Culture and Information, and Daniil Shuleiko, CEO of Yango Group, the Ministry of Culture and Information said, according to infohub.kz.

The meeting covered media support for film premieres and the inclusion of domestic titles in the platform's themed selections and recommendations. Promoting Kazakh cinema on digital platforms was among the key topics of the discussion.

The two sides also touched on cooperation in the creative industries, digital technology, artificial intelligence and education. In particular, they discussed joint efforts to advance legislative initiatives against piracy and on copyright protection, the use of artificial intelligence in art and cinema, the digital transformation of the creative industries, and the development of modern digital skills.

In education, they considered the possibility of Yandex Qazaqstan experts and mentors taking part in events organized by the Creative Industries Development Fund.

Arman Kyrykbaev also noted the rollout of Yandex Qazaqstan's Creative Qazaqstan project on the Khabar and Qazaqstan television channels. The project focuses on Kazakhstan's modern creative economy.

Following the meeting, the two sides confirmed their interest in further cooperation in cinema, the creative industries, artificial intelligence, digital education and the promotion of Kazakh content.

Earlier, Kursiv examined how the language mix of Kazakhstan's commercial cinema has shifted: from mostly Russian-language films in the 2000s to successful Kazakh-language releases in the mid-2020s. One example is "Zhumaqtan Bilet": the film was shot in Russian in 2021 and re-dubbed into Kazakh before its 2026 theatrical release.
