Kazakh investment company Fonte Capital has acquired an 18% stake in Russian group Samolet, one of the leaders in Russia's construction market by volume of housing under construction and sales, reports infohub.kz.

Samolet announced the completion of the deal to sell a package of ordinary shares previously owned by the Gorizont fund of the heirs of the company's founder Mikhail Kenin. The buyer was Fonte Inceptia Alpha Fund OEIC Limited, registered in the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and part of the Kazakh investor's structure.

According to Kommersant's estimates, the deal amounted to about 4.2 billion rubles (approximately 25.5 billion tenge). The company noted that the transaction received all necessary regulatory approvals.

Yerzhan Mussin, director of Fonte Capital, emphasized that acquiring a stake in Samolet will allow expanding the exposure of the Fonte Inceptia Alpha Fund OEIC to the real estate sector.

Samolet is Russia's largest developer by volume of current construction. In 2024, it topped the ranking of the most reliable developers according to Forbes Russia. The company's revenue in 2025 increased by 8% compared to the previous year, reaching 366.8 billion rubles. At the same time, net loss amounted to 2.3 billion rubles against a profit of 8.2 billion rubles a year earlier.

Recently, the developer has been experiencing difficulties in servicing its debts. The company asked the government for a concessional loan of 50 billion rubles but was refused.

After news of the deal with Fonte Capital, Samolet's shares on the stock exchange rose by 13.1% to 419.6 rubles per share.

Kazakh Fonte Capital specializes in creating collective investment funds. According to its own data, the company manages 24 funds.
