In the Pavlodar region, a man was arrested for 20 days for riding an electric bicycle while intoxicated and without a driver's license. The incident occurred on August 4 in the village of Atameken, reports infohub.kz.
At about 6:30 a.m., police officers stopped a citizen who was riding a Linkon electric bicycle without a state registration plate. Upon inspection, it was found that he had no driving license and showed signs of alcohol intoxication.
During the court hearing, the offender admitted his guilt and explained that he had consumed alcohol the previous day and in the morning rode his e-bike to a store, where he was stopped by police. A medical examination confirmed a mild degree of alcohol intoxication.
The Specialized Interdistrict Court for Administrative Offenses of Pavlodar established that the electric bicycle, by its technical characteristics, belongs to vehicles of category L1/A1 and is equated to a moped, which requires a corresponding driver's license.
Having examined the case materials, including the medical examination report, video recordings, the administrative offense protocol, and information from the police department confirming the absence of a driver's license, the court found his guilt proven. By court order, citizen K. was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 6 of Article 608 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was sentenced to 20 days of administrative arrest. The order has entered into legal force.
