In Semey, police detained a 36-year-old man who had been evading probation control since January after being convicted of large-scale fraud. The court had found him guilty, but the convict left his place of residence without permission and stopped making contact, after which he was put on the wanted list... reports the website infohub.kz.
According to the Interior Ministry's website, after the sentence, the man was under probation supervision. However, in January, he violated the terms by evading supervision. As a result of operational search measures, he was detained and placed in a detention center in Semey.
Zhaslan Tanzhanov, head of the criminal police department of the Pavlodar region police department, said: "As a result, the wanted man was detained and placed in the Semey detention center. In the near future, he will be transferred to Pavlodar."
The department explained that territorial police units and officers from neighboring regions are involved in the search for wanted persons. After a person is put on the wanted list, alerts are sent to all units. Each officer is briefed on the appearance and identifying features of the wanted individuals.
The police added that practice shows that evading justice is impossible, and the offender will have to answer for the crime according to the law.
