A resident of Kostanay, who was registered with the probation service, will go to a penal colony instead of doing community service: the reason was regular trips to his beloved, which he did not report to the supervising authorities, according to the website infohub.kz.
As explained by the Committee of the Criminal Executive System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the convict sentenced to restriction of freedom was given the opportunity to prove his rehabilitation without isolation from society. However, he did not use this chance.
While registered with the probation service, the man repeatedly violated court requirements. During inspections, he was absent from his place of residence four times. It turned out that the reason was dates with a girl, which he did not notify probation officers about.
Each absence was recorded, and preventive work was carried out with the violator, but he drew no proper conclusions.
Moreover, such behavior became a repetition of his past mistakes: in 2023, he was also registered with the probation service but violated the established requirements, which led to his suspended sentence being replaced with a real punishment.
As a result, in August 2026, the unserved part of the sentence in the form of restriction of freedom was replaced with imprisonment.
