In the Kostanay region, a local resident married to a citizen of another country was unable to obtain a land plot. This was reported by the website infohub.kz.
The prosecutor's office of the Uzunkol district conducted an analysis of compliance with land legislation and revealed serious violations during the competition for the provision of agricultural land.
It turned out that the land commission of the akimat of the Uzunkol district, when summing up the results of the competition, unreasonably awarded additional points to some participants for residing in the district for more than five years. In addition, the commission did not take into account that one of the lots in the competition was participated by a citizen of Kazakhstan who is married to a foreigner.
According to Article 24 of the Land Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, agricultural land plots cannot be provided for private ownership or on the right of land use to citizens of Kazakhstan who are married to foreigners or stateless persons.
Following the prosecutor's order, the violations were eliminated. The protocol of the land commission meeting was canceled, and seven land plots with a total area of 1,129 hectares will be put up for re-competition for provision to citizens for the purpose of running a peasant (farm) enterprise.
