Kazakh Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek addressed applicants and their parents, congratulating those who were admitted and offering support to those who did not receive a grant this year, reports infohub.kz.
"I congratulate future students on the beginning of a new stage in life. And to those whose names did not appear among the recipients of state grants today, I wish the most important thing: do not stop. Sometimes the path to a dream turns out to be a little longer than we planned. But that does not mean it leads nowhere," he wrote on Telegram.
The key point he emphasized: "Do not let one list define the scale of your dream."
To parents, the minister reminded that there is another opportunity that not everyone knows about: after enrollment, a portion of state grants are freed up each year. The head of the ministry also stressed that students who begin their studies on a fee-paying basis and demonstrate high academic results can later apply for vacant grants.
"So my advice to parents today is very simple. If your child received a grant, rejoice with them. Let them feel that their efforts are truly valued. If they did not, today they may need your support even more. Do not compare them with others. Do not turn one competition into a verdict. Instead, together open the list of universities, call admissions offices, and inquire about rector's, regional, and corporate grants. Look for the next route," Nurbek addressed parents.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that the recipients of state grants for studying at Kazakh universities have been announced. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan published the list of state educational grant recipients for the 2026–2027 academic year. Applicants can check the competition results on the ministry's official resources.
