Kazakhstan's Minister of Tourism and Sports, Yerbol Myrzabosynov, has expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz people following the conclusion of the 6th World Nomad Games, as reported by infohub.kz.
The competitions took place in Kyrgyzstan. In a statement published on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Myrzabosynov emphasized that the Nomad Games "unite brotherly peoples through shared history, traditions, and national sports."
As a sign of respect, the minister presented a bow to Urmat Asanbaev, Director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic. During the meeting, the parties discussed the outcomes of the Nomad Games.
"The Kazakh and Kyrgyz peoples are united by common historical roots, close traditions, and spiritual values. Such international competitions strengthen ties between athletes and sports industry professionals of the two countries, contributing to the further development of our cooperation. The World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan were held at a high organizational level. I thank the brotherly Kyrgyz people for their hospitality and warm welcome!" Myrzabosynov stated.
Earlier, a scandal erupted around the Nomad Games regarding the medal tally. Organizers presented a final version in which the number of gold medals for Kazakhstan's team was lower than in the report of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. With this calculation, Kyrgyzstan took first place in the overall standings, not Kazakhstan. Later, the organizers removed the publication and explained that there is no final version of the ranking, as the collection of protocol information is ongoing. The State Agency for Sports of Kyrgyzstan added that the overall team standings are not kept at all "in accordance with the concept of the Nomad Games."
