A mother of five who tried to skip the line at a border crossing ended up facing criminal charges, 100 hours of community service, and a compensation payment. The incident occurred at the Aisha Bibi checkpoint on the Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan border, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Zhambyl District Court, in May 2026 the woman was returning from Kyrgyzstan with her family. At the border checkpoint, she attempted to cut in line and was reprimanded by another woman who was waiting. A verbal altercation ensued. After passing through passport control, the conflict continued. The victim began recording the incident on her phone, and pushed away the defendant's son's device when he tried to do the same. In response, the mother ran over and struck the other woman in the face. Bystanders managed to separate the two.
During the trial, the defendant's guilt was confirmed by testimony from both sides, video recordings, and a forensic medical examination. The woman fully admitted her guilt, expressed remorse, and apologized to the victim. The victim claimed she received multiple blows and serious injuries, but the examination did not support this. Experts concluded that the injuries sustained did not harm her health.
The prosecutor requested a sentence of 100 hours of community service. The court took into account that she had no prior criminal record, admitted guilt, showed remorse, and is raising five minor children. No aggravating circumstances were found. The woman was found guilty under paragraph 5 of part 2 of Article 109-1 of the Criminal Code. She was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and ordered to pay the victim 300,000 tenge in compensation for moral damages. The verdict has entered into force.
