In the Atyrau region, the head of a temporary detention facility assisted foreign tourists who were walking to Georgia, reports infohub.kz.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the incident occurred on August 22 on the Atyrau-Astrakhan highway. Citizens of Chile and China, traveling on foot, ran out of drinking water due to the extreme heat and were forced to stop by the road.

At that time, Yersin Gainetov, the head of the temporary detention facility of the Kurmangazy district police department, was passing along the highway on official business. Noticing the foreign travelers, the officer did not remain indifferent and stopped to help them. He inquired about their well-being, bought them necessary drinks, and offered them a ride. He also helped them navigate their route and gave them necessary recommendations so they could safely continue their journey.

The travelers expressed gratitude for the assistance. The foreign guests said their final destination was Georgia. They continued their journey through the territory of Kazakhstan.
