One right decision on the road can save a human life. That was the message from police to Kazakh drivers after a preventive raid in which they checked how motorists yield to ambulances with flashing lights and sirens, reports infohub.kz.
The operation was carried out using video surveillance. Officers assessed how well drivers comply with traffic rules requiring them to give way to emergency vehicles with light and sound signals. The campaign also aimed to improve driving culture and attention to vehicles rushing to help.
According to the Interior Ministry's information media portal, the monitoring showed that most drivers yielded to ambulances in a timely manner, demonstrating a high level of civic responsibility and legal culture. This is an important indicator that residents are not indifferent to the lives and health of others.
However, some cases of traffic violations by certain drivers were recorded. Such actions could delay emergency medical assistance in a critical situation, police stressed.
