At the 2026 Summer Asian Games in Japan, Kazakhstan's rowing team competed in the finals, with Roza Kenes delivering the country's best result — a fourth-place finish in the women's lightweight single sculls Final A. She covered the distance in 7 minutes 47.95 seconds, finishing just short of the podium, infohub.kz reports.
Yekaterina Noskova and Maria Chernets also posted a top-five result. The Kazakh duo finished fifth in the women's lightweight double sculls with a time of 7 minutes 11.19 seconds. Iran took gold, Hong Kong claimed silver and Japan bronze.
Kazakhstan's men also competed in the B finals. Bapan Askhanbek finished second in the single sculls and placed eighth overall in the standings.
Aleksei Krasnovsky and Vladislav Galkin matched that result in the pairs. The Kazakh crew finished second in the B final and also took eighth place in the final classification.
