Kazakh swimmers Sofya Spodarenko and Aibat Myrzamuratov competed in the finals at the 2026 Asian Games. Spodarenko finished sixth in the women's 50-meter butterfly, while Myrzamuratov placed tenth in the men's 50-meter breaststroke, according to infohub.kz.
In the women's final, Spodarenko swam a time of 26.49 seconds. Zhang Yufei of China won gold, her compatriot Wu Qingfeng took silver, and Japan's Rikako Ikee claimed bronze.

Three other members of the national team failed to advance from the qualifiers in their events. Alexander Rumyansky finished 11th in the 200-meter backstroke, Maksim Skazobtsov placed 16th in the 200-meter butterfly, and Fedor Didenko was 19th in the 400-meter freestyle.
A day earlier, Kazakhstan's men's team finished fifth in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay final. Adilbek Mussin also placed eighth in the 50-meter butterfly final.
