A resident of the Abai region has been barred from blogging for five years due to social media posts about her former employer and his family, reports infohub.kz.
According to the regional penal system press service, the 42-year-old woman was convicted of spreading false information and making threats against her former employer and his relatives. The court sentenced her to two years in prison and banned her from blogging for five years.
The woman worked at a private company. After resigning voluntarily, she received her salary for the entire period actually worked. Despite this, she claimed she had not been paid.
An active social media user, she began posting about her former boss and his family. The posts contained false information, mocked personal qualities, and disclosed private details that humiliated the former employer's relatives.
She also threatened to spread other information that could seriously harm the interests of her former employer and his family, demanding money for her silence.
Given that the convict has two minor children (aged 11 and 10), the prison sentence was postponed for one year.
The woman has been registered with the probation service of the Abai region. Preventive and explanatory work is being carried out with her. She has been informed of the court's requirements and the consequences of violating them. If she evades serving the sentence, the postponement may be revoked and the sentence enforced.
"Having received the punishment, I realized I was wrong. I am very ashamed before my children. Now I understand that because of my posts, I could be separated from them for a long time. During the postponement, I will do everything possible not to lose my freedom and to always be with my children and loved ones. I have realized my mistake and understand that such actions can have serious consequences," the convict shared.
