The story of a woman from Kazakhstan's West Kazakhstan Region who alleged she was gang-raped 30 years ago has taken an unexpected turn: her daughter has been found in the United States, and a DNA test has confirmed their relationship, infohub.kz reports.
Natalya Kalymbetova, 49, traveled to the United States to take a DNA test. According to the woman, her presumed daughter met her at the airport. However, the West Kazakhstan native declined to show the young woman on video, explaining that she is a US citizen and that she would not publish her face until the court proceedings are concluded.
"When I saw her at the airport, I immediately knew she was my daughter. After all, I gave birth to her, I know her gaze, every cell of her, her eyebrows, her nails. She is still so small, fragile and gentle. For the first two days it was hard for us to communicate, because our mentalities are completely different. On the third day we talked about everything. She knows all the information about me," Natalya Kalymbetova said.
On the appointed day, the results of the test became known: it showed a 99.9% match. According to the woman, she now intends to introduce her daughter to her son in Thailand and later bring her to Kazakhstan as well. Natalya Kalymbetova sincerely thanked her compatriots who had been worried about her.
"Now we will always be together. This is happiness," the woman concluded.
The press service of the West Kazakhstan Region Police Department said that all necessary expert examinations had been ordered in the criminal case. However, they declined to disclose the progress of the investigation.
Recall that a TikTok user previously shared a horrifying story. According to her, 30 years ago she was raped, allegedly by four men. At the time she was 17–18 years old and lived in a village in the West Kazakhstan Region. After the incident, she moved to Oral and gave birth to a daughter, whom she was forced to leave at a children's home. Some time later, the woman left the country with her young son and lived in Vietnam.
The West Kazakhstan Region Police Department responded to her statement. The department said a criminal case had been opened over the incident.
