A mother of six from the East Kazakhstan region has reported a brutal attack by her ex-husband. According to the woman, he attacked her with a knife near a store, aiming for her neck and cutting off part of her ear. The regional police department confirmed the attack and reported the suspect's arrest, according to infohub.kz.

Madina Nurgaliyeva, a resident of the village of Samarskoye, posted a video message on TikTok describing the incident. In the video's description, she wrote: "I am a mother of six from the village of Samarskoye (East Kazakhstan region). On July 25, 2026, my ex-husband attacked me with a knife near a store. He aimed for my neck, cut off part of my ear, and inflicted stab wounds. I survived only because I defended myself with all my might! Before this, he repeatedly threatened me with violence and a knife. I regularly contacted the local police, but the officers ignored my appeals and showed complete negligent inaction!"

A NUR.KZ correspondent sent a request to the press service of the East Kazakhstan Regional Police Department. They confirmed that they had received a report of a woman from Samarskoye being stabbed. "Upon this fact, the police took immediate measures to detain the suspect. On the same day, a 51-year-old resident of the village, the victim's ex-husband, was detained. He is currently under arrest. A criminal case has been opened against him. In addition, a protective order has been issued prohibiting any contact with the victim," the department noted.

The press service clarified that the man had previously been repeatedly brought to criminal and administrative responsibility based on the victim's statements. He has also been deprived of parental rights. "Currently, all necessary investigative actions are being carried out. Based on the results of the investigation, measures will be taken in accordance with current legislation. The progress of the investigation is under special control of the department's leadership," the response to the request said.
