A resident of the capital will pay a fine to a woman she insulted on social media. The main punishment was not imposed thanks to the amnesty law, reports infohub.kz.
According to the court's press service, a verdict was announced in Astana against L. She was accused of insulting the victim, Zh., by uttering words that humiliated her honor and dignity.
The statement reads: "The defendant, L., using social networks, uttered insulting words towards the victim, Zh., that humiliated her honor and dignity. In the court session, L. admitted her guilt, expressed readiness to apologize to the victim, and partially acknowledged the civil claim. The fact of the insulting statements is confirmed by the conclusion of a specialist based on the results of a psychological and philological examination of the video recording."
The victim, Zh., stated that she does not forgive the defendant and asked that she be given the punishment provided by law, and supported the civil claim for the recovery of expenses incurred and compensation for moral damage. The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 200 MCI, or correctional labor in the same amount, or community service for up to 180 hours.
The court sentenced L. to a fine of 30 MCI, which amounts to 129,750 tenge. Thanks to the law "On Amnesty in Connection with the Adoption of the New Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the defendant was released from the main punishment.
