Kazakh wrestler Dinmukhamed Koshkar won a bronze medal at the international ranking tournament in Budapest, reports infohub.kz.
Competing in Greco-Roman wrestling in the 67 kg weight category, Koshkar confidently defeated Armenian athlete Slavik Galstyan in the third-place bout and climbed onto the podium of the prestigious event.
In women's wrestling, Kazakh athletes failed to reach the podium. Altyn Shagayeva (59 kg) lost to Norway's Othelie Høye in the bronze medal match. Irina Kuznetsova (62 kg) also fell short of a medal, losing to India's Savita.
Today, July 18, the remaining medal sets in women's wrestling will be decided. In Greco-Roman wrestling, athletes in the 72 kg and 87 kg weight categories will take to the mat.
