The Kazakh delegation has decided to settle in properly at the legendary Burning Man festival this year, setting up an entire village of 11 yurts in the Nevada desert. This move has significantly expanded the presence of Kazakh culture at one of the world's largest events, reports infohub.kz.
For the first time, the Tengri Camp team brought a real Kazakh yurt to the Black Rock Desert (Nevada, USA) in 2025. It became a magnet for festival-goers eager to learn about Kazakh traditions, taste national dishes, and chat with participants from Kazakhstan.
This year, they decided to scale up. Tengri Camp has brought 11 yurts to the festival, which are being set up before the event begins. Notably, one of the yurts was assembled for the Mexican group AMMO, symbolizing the unification of participants from different countries in a shared space.
According to delegation representatives, they plan to feed about five thousand people at Burning Man this year. Blogger Sabina Omar notes: "We spent about $16,000 (7.4 million tenge) on food alone. All of this needs to be transported to the desert, stored, cooked, and used to feed thousands of people."
Delegation founder Askhat Muratov is actively sharing the process of building a real Kazakh village on social media. The festival itself runs from August 30 to September 7, 2026.
