Kazakhstan's national team continues its strong performance at the 6th World Nomad Games, bringing the total number of gold medals to 32. New awards were won on the sixth day of competition, reports infohub.kz.
On September 6, participants competed for medals in disciplines such as kokpar, kok-boru, togyz kumalak, mangala, and owari. Competitions in intellectual sports started on the first day of the Games, with the decisive stages held on this day.
Kazakhstani athletes performed successfully in several disciplines. In togyz kumalak, they won four gold and two silver medals. In mangala, members of the national team added two gold, two silver, and one bronze medal. Our athletes also earned awards in owari, a traditional intellectual game of African peoples.
In togyz kumalak and mangala alone, Kazakhstani athletes won six gold, four silver, and one bronze medal.
In the final of the kok-boru competition, Kazakhstan faced the Kyrgyzstan team. This sport is widely practiced in the host country and is one of its traditional national disciplines. The Kyrgyz team won the decisive match with a score of 12:0 and took the gold medals, while Kazakhstan finished the tournament with silver.
The national teams of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan also met in the final match of kokpar. The hosts proved stronger again. The match ended with a score of 7:2 in favor of Kyrgyzstan, and the Kazakh team won another silver medal.
