A wave of outrage is rapidly growing on social media in Kazakhstan over the spread of videos created by artificial intelligence: the authors of such content "resurrect" servicemen who died during exercises on the Caspian Sea and recreate the moments of their deaths for views and likes, reports infohub.kz.
Such footage has sparked mixed reactions from users. They condemn these posts, calling them immoral and deeply traumatizing for the families of the deceased.
Blogger Ali-Asker Baiguzhin posted a video in which he said that there should be at least some respect for the parents of the dead servicemen. According to him, they are already having a hard time.
"You take it upon yourselves to make such videos. There should be some humanity, it's unethical to do this. It's wrong, guys, don't do it. You can't do this, I don't know, maybe you want to boost your reach this way? I don't know, or promote yourselves? You shouldn't do this, it's dancing on bones," the man said indignantly.
Director Rustem Omarov expressed a similar opinion. As he wrote on social media, someone else's grief is not content.
"I don't think dead soldiers should be 'resurrected' with AI, made to speak, and turned into videos. This is not content. They are someone's sons, brothers, husbands. Their loved ones are already having a very hard time. Imandy bolsyn," he says.
In the comments, people note that creating such content at a time when loved ones have not yet buried the men and are experiencing the most severe grief is cruel and inhumane. Many emphasize that the authors are exploiting others' pain solely in pursuit of reach and likes. Users point to violations of laws and norms prohibiting the use of images of people without the consent of their loved ones.
Comments also call for reporting and blocking the accounts of such authors. Commenters note that the parents of the dead soldiers explicitly asked not to publish AI videos.

"Some seem to compete over who can make a more pitiful video, as if they are deprived of reason. They post footage of soldiers drowning, it's just horrible. I hope they start punishing such people."
"I'm in shock at people, nothing is sacred! I've seen a bunch of videos, the feed shows them drowning and so on. This is not normal! This is immoral, come to your senses!" users write.
On September 24, during the performance of combat training tasks by naval forces on the Caspian Sea, due to a sudden storm and gusty wind, 17 servicemen were carried out to the open sea. As a result of the incident, 14 people died.
