The national messenger Aitu will expand its family chat functionality, allowing Kazakhstanis to make traditional money transfers such as korimdik, suyinshi, and asar, reports infohub.kz.

During a government meeting, the head of BTS Digital, Maksat Nuridenuly, said that 6.8 million users have registered on Aitu. The platform's monthly active audience is 1 million people, and 100,000 users log in daily.

The head of the company responsible for Aitu's development noted the gap between registrations and the regular audience. This is because Aitu was previously just a messenger, and now it is necessary to create reasons for users to return daily.

“We are creating a national messenger that takes into account our traditions, language, and way of life. Therefore, it will feature functions useful for every family. Today, Kazakhstan is home to over 8 million families, and almost every one has a common chat for communicating with relatives. For example, such chats will allow storing photos, a calendar of important events, reminders, and organizing various activities,” said Maksat Nuridenuly.

According to the company head, Aitu will offer familiar automatic money transfers related to traditions, such as korimdik, suyinshi, asar, and sadaka. Another development area will be digital shezhire. Users will be able to preserve their family genealogy in a convenient format.

In addition, great attention is paid to the development of the Kazakh language. The app will feature automatic translation from Kazakh to Russian and from Russian to Kazakh.

The messenger also plans to create channels for eGov requests, building, district, and school chats with the ability to conduct polls, submit meter readings, as well as verified communication channels with doctors, police officers, and other civil servants.

“By the end of this year, we plan to increase the monthly audience to 1.5 million users. Next year, the projected figure is over 3.8 million monthly users,” said Maksat Nuridenuly.

Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstanis would be able to use a number of government digital services without spending mobile internet traffic. This applies to socially significant government applications and services (eGov, eGov Business, eOtinish, Aitu, and other services).
